So our New Year's Eve wasn't the best....Spencer was sick, he slept for most of it. At least my parent's had some yummy food! :) This holiday season was full of sickness though. Blah.
However, one reason to celebrate the New Year...Spencer officially has a full-time job with benefits! BizVision hired him on as a full-time employee, good benefits and it's salary. We feel extremely blessed. Spencer has waited a long time for this. Since he graduated he has had a hard time finding a full-time position that offered benefits, he easily found lots of freelance, part-time work, and internships. I have to say I am so proud of him. He never quit the warehouse job, which he hated. He would work in the early morning, 5 or 6 am at the distribution center. Then often worked at a second and sometimes third job. He did a lot of freelance. He probably could have quit the distribution center and just worked freelance. But he wanted to make sure he always had steady income in case he couldn't find freelance work. This was a huge sacrifice for him. Honestly, this warehouse job sucked the life out of him. He worked there for 4 1/2 years. But he wasn't going to leave unless he had a job that he felt secure at and knew he could take care of his family. I sure do love that about him. He was definitely thinking of his family and worked harder then anyone I know. He would sometimes have 14-16 hour days.
The last day at the distribution center sure was a great one. What a great feeling to finally leave! He loves his job at BizVision. Since it's a smaller company that is growing fast, he is wearing many hats and is involved in way more than if it was a huge corporation. He is currently the Media Production Coordinator and loving that he gets to bring a lot of his skills to the table but also is learning a ton and finding new skills. This job really is the perfect job that he has patiently been waiting for. We are so full of gratitude.
