December was a crazy month for us. Some of the craziness was fun. Some not so fun (for Spencer). We had our ward Christmas party. The primary put on a Nativity. It was pretty funny. The kids in our ward crack me up. One of the more memorable moments was when Mary realized she forgot to remove her pregnant belly, and ran to the side of the stage in the middle of the scene and ripped out the pillow and threw it to the side. ha ha.
We also went to Z'Tejas for BizVision's Christmas party. BizVision is a small company with 7 LDS guys. Spencer started doing some work for them as a freelancer, in the hopes of being hired on as a full-time employee in January. It's a great company and Spencer loved going to work for them. BizVision is a mile away from our house. So he really wanted to get hired. The reason December was a bit stressful for Spencer is because he would go to work at the distribution center at 5 am and work until 10. Next he would head straight to Bizvision and work until 4:45. Then he would pick Caleb up and take care of him until I got home after 6. By the time I got home, we would eat and would soon retire to bed. That guy was exhausted at the end of the day. We still managed to do Christmas activities, even with this crazy schedule of his.
Anyway back to the Christmas party...It was fun to meet all the guys and their wives. The food was good and there was a white elephant gift exchanged. We got a huge toostie roll sucker and a big yard long tube of licorice. Thank you Joel and Brianna for watching Caleb for us!
One of my favorite activities we did this Christmas season was the Mormon Tabernacle Choir Christmas program. A lady Spencer worked with at the distribution center had extra tickets to the Sunday showing. I'm very grateful to her for giving them to us. I LOVED IT! I heard it was one of the best ones they have ever put on. I have never gone, but I definitely believe that statement. I thank my parent's for watching Caleb Sunday morning so we could go. It was beautiful and really brought the spirit to our Christmas season.
This Christmas season really was focused on Christ this year. There wasn't much talk of Santa or anything else the world talks about around Christmas. It was nice.
Caleb seemed to like Christmas. He liked our Christmas tree and the Christmas lights down town. We didn't walk around in the freezing cold because Caleb had a cold. So we drove around stopping and showing him the pretty lights. It'll be fun next year when he has a little more of an idea of Christmas.
My family got together,as always, the Sunday before Christmas. This year we did the Nativity with all the grandkids. Caleb was going to be Jesus, but he was just too tired and took a nap instead :( It was fun to watch everyone. Jayda was a sheep, and was so adorable. During the reading of the story she went up and took one of the gifts from the wisemen and started to put it in her mouth. She really took her part seriously. ;) We did a white elephant gift exchange. One of our gifts that we gave was a HUGE can of peaches from Costco....Good thing Alesha and her family loves peaches. :)
December was a good month :)
