My Dad finally retired! It's about time. We really wanted to do something special for him. Since all the kids were here for the holidays, we planned a surprise dinner at Buca Di Beppo. It was just the adults and we sat at the Pope table. Which made me want a big round table. It's so much easier to talk to everyone. We had a lovely evening, eating and laughing. It was great to have everyone there without all the distractions. Afterwards we went back to my parents and had cake and watched a slideshow Spencer made of all the old photos of my parents and the kids growing up, including more recent photos. It was really cool to see photos of my parents when they were dating. There were lots of pictures we'd never even seen before. My Dad really enjoyed it!
I am very proud of my Dad. He has always been the greatest example of hard work and sacrifice. He was never one to complain. He is such a great man and I'm happy that he can sit and relax, go fishing and do whatever he wants! He deserves it. He's worked too hard for too long. Happy Retirement Dad!
